The three directors - Neil McPhail, Raewyn Gibson and Peter Zwart - established their business in 1995 with a view to providing employers with a practical, hands on advocacy service.
After extensive careers working in employment and industrial relations law, the team perceived a niche in the market for specialised employment law advocates for employers who were focused on solving problems at the negotiating table rather than in the courtroom.
This philosophy and a focus on negotiation has put McPhail Gibson & Zwart into the unique position of being trusted and effective advocates for employers, and at the same time respected by the bargaining agents they negotiate with.
Our team work to prevent disputes where possible, instead of litigating to resolve them.

While we are primarily engaged in offering services throughout the South Island, we have major clients who utilise our services throughout New Zealand.
